Usual suspect

Last sunday we picked up our white & red onions.
There were not so many in the harvest, but the size of each them were quite big.
I made an onion salad using young lettuce leaves which we had thinned from our iceberg lettuce plot
Taste was delicious as usual. :-)
In the afternoon, we went to Kyotanba chyo which is north of Nantan city.
One of our students invited us to have a look her husband's rose nursery. After retiring from teaching  her husband has spent all his spare time growing roses. He tries to enter lots of major rose competitions
We had really lovely time that sunday.

苺に続き『オニオン』の収穫期となりました。
昨年の収穫量の半分くらいでしたが、一つ一つのサイズは大きく、味は昨年程の「甘味」はありませんが、なかなか『オニオンな味』です。
FarmではPoteto (2種類　メ―クイーン＆きぬあかり) とgarlicが収穫されるのを待ちわびております。

生徒さんのご主人さまが退職後の人生を『バラ作り』に励んでいらっしゃるとのことで、路地植えが丁度見ごろとのことで、ナーサリーを拝見させて頂きに京丹波町までドライブ。
新緑の季節もおわり、深い緑の山々を超えて辿りついた里山には見事な『バラ園』
のんびりと午後の一時を過ごせました。

バラには各々名前がついており、下の薄オレンジのは「Anne Frank」
その他にも凛と立ち姿のきれいなバラや、香りほのかなツタバラが至る所に。
